This episode is the second of a 3-part series focused on neonatal circumcision. The series will span suitability for circumcision, where to cut and what constitutes adequate after-care.
 

In this episode, Dr. Edwin Smith speaks with Newborn Hospitalist Dr. Elizabeth Goetz and Pediatrician in Chief and Hospitalist Dr. Mike Steiner about their approach to newborn circumcision and their experiences with the NeoCirc learning module for circumcision. They discuss whether standardization is necessary, how to determine landmarks, and usability of the module.

Michael Steiner, MD, MPH is a general pediatrician and hospitalist at the University of North Carolina and UNC Children’s Hospital. He serves as the Pediatrician in Chief and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs and Division Chief of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. He performs circumcision in the newborn nursery and in an outpatient hospital clinic.
