This series offers insight into different health care providers' perspectives on managing BBD, and is a great tool for sharing with your pediatric nurses, referral base, and other pediatric colleagues. 


In this episode of The PedSpace, Dr. Dan Brennan discusses how his practice is dealing with the present environment, and his approach to bladder and bowel dysfunction (BBD) as a general pediatrician. Dr. Brennan describes when BBD usually presents and how a parent knows whether there is a true issue or a digression from potty training. He also shares some resources to help parents of children with BBD.



Dr. Brennan is an award-winning, board-certified pediatrician, lactation counselor, husband, and proud father of three boys in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Brennan is an accomplished health care columnist, public speaker, and a medical reviewer for WebMD. He has been featured on the American Academy of Pediatrics website, HealthyChildren.org, multiple medical publications, newspapers, Internet parenting sites, local television, radio, and national parenting magazines including Parenting, Baby Talk, American Baby and Pregnancy. Dr. Brennan was a medical consultant for the hit USA television shows Burn Notice and Complications



In 2014, Dr. Brennan created Strive for 95, a community-based coalition to increase public awareness about the importance of vaccines and help rebuild community immunity levels to 95%. In 2002, he co-created CHAMP, a childhood nutrition, exercise, and education program. Dr. Brennan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA and his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and practices general pediatrics at Sansum Clinic in Santa Barbara. In his spare time, Dr. Brennan volunteers as the president of his local Little League and is an avid distance-runner, cyclist, community volunteer, and coach of his three sons’ soccer and Little League teams.
